Here's why Ranbir's 'Sanju' could easily take biggest-opening of 2018
Put Ranbir Kapoor in a right film and he can give the biggest superstars a run for their money. Even though his last few films under-performed, nobody questioned his acting skills. It was just about finding the correct script. And with Rajkumar Hirani's 'Sanju', he seems set to deliver the numbers. The highly-anticipated film is on its way to take the biggest-opening of 2018.
Ranbir takes on Salman Khan
The biopic of Sanjay Dutt is in direct competition with Salman Khan's Eid release 'Race 3'. The multi-starrer action-thriller had raked in Rs. 29.17 crore on day one which means that the target for 'Sanju' is to bring in at least Rs. 30 crore on Friday. And with the amount of buzz that the film has generated, trade experts believe it can script history.
'Sanju' is Ranbir and Hirani's widest release till date
In what gives 'Sanju' a fair chance to score big on its first day, the film is releasing on 4,000 screens across the country, which is the second highest screen-count of 2018 after 'Race 3'. Overseas, the film will be out on 1,300 plus screens. 'Sanju' has been jointly produced by Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films.
Trade expert Atul Mohan predicts triple century for 'Sanju'
"Sanju can easily cross Rs. 100 crore over the first weekend itself. Beyond that, it really depends on the audience and the content. However, given the fact that this is a Hirani film, it could enter the Rs. 300 crore club," Atul Mohan told HT.
With 'Sanju', Ranbir will get his both biggest-opener and highest-grosser
Believe it or not, Ranbir's biggest-opener till date is 'Dabangg' director Abhinav Kashyap's 'Besharam' which had collected Rs. 21.56 crore on its first day. And, his highest-grossing film is Ayan Mukerji's 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' with a lifetime total of Rs. 190.03 crore. With 'Sanju', Ranbir will finally beat his own records.
For us, Ranbir is the best actor of 2018 already!
The amount of hard work that the Kapoor lad has put in is quite evident and we certainly believe that he deserves all the Best Actor trophies of 2018. And, the best part is that he hasn't blown his own trumpet like most of the other actors do when they take up a challenging role. Ranbir has let the character to speak for itself.
