'Script ready,' says Ranbir Kapoor on 'Brahmastra: Part Two—Dev'
The anticipation for Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming film Animal is reaching a fever pitch! Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna and Anil Kapoor, the film is set for a December 1 release. Meanwhile, during a recent virtual interaction with fans, Kapoor shared an important update on his other highly-anticipated film, Brahmastra: Part Two—Dev, while also addressing the criticism that Part One received.
Why does this story matter?
Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra: Part One—Shiva was released in September 2022. Starring Kapoor and his wife, actor Alia Bhatt, in the lead, Brahmastra is a planned trilogy under Astraverse, Mukerji's very own cinematic universe. Though it became a commercial success, it still faced criticism over its dialogues and the romantic track. Reports have claimed that the sequel will also feature Deepika Padukone.
Script for 'Brahmastra 2' is ready
The work on the second installment of the Brahmastra franchise's script is ready, said Kapoor while talking to his fans. "Brahmastra: Part Two is heavy into writing. We are working on it all the time. It's just last week that [Mukerji] narrated the film to me, and he has gone 10 times bigger than Part One - his idea, his thought, the character."
Filming to begin after 'War 2'
The filming of Brahmastra 2 will begin after Mukerji finishes War 2. "He is working on War 2 right now. So, the plan is to finish War 2 by mid-next year, and we start shooting hopefully by the end of next year or the beginning of 2025. But definitely, a lot of work is already been happening on the film," Kapoor told his fans.
'Criticism was constructive': Kapoor
The 41-year-old actor also addressed the criticism Brahmastra 1 faced, especially over its dialogues and his chemistry with Bhatt. Kapoor said the team has also worked on the flaws. "We have put everything into consideration, the dialogue and comments on Shiva and Isha's missing chemistry," he said. Adding that "a lot of criticism was constructive," he said they are trying to better the sequel.
