Ranbir-Alia's 'Brahmastra' gets postponed; is Akshay Kumar the reason?
What's the story
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's upcoming release 'Brahmastra' has been in news for a lot of reasons.
After all, the real-life couple Ranbir-Alia are collaborating for the first time ever, making it one of the most-awaited movies of 2019.
But looks like we'll have to wait a little longer before we see Ranbir romancing Alia onscreen, as 'Brahmastra' has been postponed to Christmas 2019.

Karan Johar announced the new release date
Notably, 'Brahmastra' was earlier scheduled to release on Independence Day, i.e, August 15, 2019.
However, the movie has now been postponed to year-end.
Producer Karan Johar took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to make the announcement. He tweeted that the first part of 'Brahmastra' will hit the silver screen on Christmas next year.

Akshay's release
Perhaps, because Akshay Kumar has booked Independence day again
Reportedly, the release has been delayed because of Akshay Kumar, who has once again booked the Independence Day in 2019 for his upcoming movie 'Mission Mangal'.
Akshay is coming up with India's first space movie which will be based on the country's Mars Mission.
Obviously, 'Brahmastra' makers would not want a box-office clash with a crowd puller like Akshay.

Box office clash
But, his movie will clash with John Abraham's next
Notably, Akshay will still not have a solo release for 'Mission Mangal' on Independence Day next year.
The movie will face a box office clash with John Abraham's 'Batla House'.
Interestingly, this is the second time that Akshay and John would have a face off at the box office.
Earlier, the two clashed for 'Gold' and 'Satyameva Jayate' on Independence Day this year.
