'Ramayana': Ranbir's film's second part may begin shooting in May
What's the story
While Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor is busy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's romantic drama Love & War, director Nitesh Tiwari is reportedly moving ahead with the shooting of Ramayana with Kapoor's body double.
The two ambitious projects starring Kapoor are being shot simultaneously.
The shooting for Ramayana is on-track and the makers are planning to begin the filming for the second part in May, reported Mid-Day.
Filming progress
Kapoor's role in 'Ramayana' nearly complete
A production insider revealed that Kapoor has already shot most of his pivotal scenes for the first part of Ramayana.
"Ranbir has completed almost all his crucial scenes for the first part of Ramayana; only patchwork is remaining, which can be managed without him," the source said.
These minor sequences are now being shot with a body double to avoid any delays in production.

'Ramayana' production plans and cast details
Ramayana's production team has smartly planned the shoot so that there are no delays, even in Kapoor's absence.
"Since his dates were assigned to Love & War, Ramayan's production team planned the shoot in such a way that there are no delays," the source added.
Tiwari's Ramayana also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The film is planned as a two-part offering.

'Ramayana' post-production and release schedule
The first part of Ramayana is a VFX-heavy film, which means it will require a lot of post-production work.
"It is a VFX-heavy film, and a lot of work is being done in post-production. Nitesh will dedicate the next few months to that," the source stated.
The second part will reportedly start filming in May, with Kapoor joining by June.
The first part of Ramayana releases on Diwali 2026, followed by the second part on Diwali 2027.
