'Game Changer' delayed? Producer says no, confirms release date
Fans are disappointed as rumors about the delay of Ram Charan and Kiara Advani's highly anticipated film, Game Changer, have been circulating on social media. However, the film's producer has reportedly confirmed that the movie is set to be released during Christmas this year. The film, which tells the story of an honest IAS officer battling a corrupt political system, was initially scheduled for a Dussehra release.
Producer addressed rumors at Moscow International Film Week
In an interview with News18 during the ongoing Moscow International Film Festival, the film's producer, Dil Raju, clarified the release date rumors. He stated, "The shoot is complete and we're releasing the film during Christmas this year." "I'm expecting this film to change the images of Shankar sir and Ram. It touches upon an aspect of Indian politics and explores a social theme. I'm hoping it will be a big success."
Producer teased 'Game Changer' as a 'proper commercial' film
Raju described Game Changer as a "proper commercial" film that explores a social theme and delves into Indian politics. He revealed that the film will feature five songs and is a typical hero-villain movie. "Shankar sir has done this kind of film earlier but after Robot, he changed his style of storytelling. But he's going back to what he was known for with Game Changer after a long time," Raju added.
'Game Changer' to compete with other big releases
The revised release date for Game Changer places it in competition with several other major releases. Aamir Khan's Sitare Zameen Par is slated for a Christmas release, while Hollywood's Mufasa: The Lion King and Varun Dhawan's Baby John are also scheduled around the same time. Another big-budget, star-studded ensemble film, Welcome to the Jungle, headlined by Akshay Kumar, is also set to hit theaters near Christmas.
'Game Changer' marks director Shankar's first Telugu film
Game Changer, written by Karthik Subbaraj, is produced by Raju and Sirish. This marks director Shankar's debut in the Telugu film industry. The movie also features SJ Suryah, Anjali, Jayaram, Naveen Chandra, Sunil, Srikanth, Samuthirakani, and Nassar in pivotal roles. The film was shot in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Vizag. During the outdoor shoots in Vizag, the production team struggled to control the crowd as images of the actors' looks leaked online.
