'RC16': Rashmika Mandanna, Ram Charan to collaborate for first time?
Rashmika Mandanna, who is right now basking in the glory of her film Pushpa's success, might team up with Telugu star Ram Charan for his 16th venture, tentatively titled RC16, said reports. If this update bears fruit, this will be the first collaboration between the two actors. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the sci-fi venture will have a background of time travel, added the reports.
Why does the story matter?
Mandanna is newer to the film industry compared to Charan but has an impressive track record. Of the 13 films she has appeared in, nine have done well. Her last film, Pushpa: The Rise - Part 01, did humongous business. Meanwhile, Charan, son of Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, has also appeared in several well-acclaimed ventures. So their collaboration is surely worth looking forward to.
Was Disha Patani roped in for 'RC16' earlier?
Reports had earlier suggested that Bollywood actor Disha Patani was to appear as the female lead in RC16. However, she reportedly opted out due to scheduling issues. Patani is a known face in Telugu cinema having appeared in Puri Jagannadh's magnum opus Loafer (her debut film), where Varun Tej was her co-actor. Billed as a pan-Indian project, RC16 is Tinnanuri's fourth directorial.

The earlier three films directed by Tinnanuri are Malli Raava, Jersey, and Hindi remake of Jersey (also named Jersey). The original Jersey, a Telugu film starring Nani, won two National Film Awards last year. Meanwhile, Mandanna is currently gearing up for her Bollywood debut Mission Majnu, which hits theaters on May 13. She also has another Hindi project titled Goodbye with Amitabh Bachchan.
Charan will next be seen in 'RRR'
On the other hand, Charan is currently awaiting the release of his magnum opus RRR directed by SS Rajamouli. The film hits cinema halls on March 25, just days after Holi. The period action drama film co-stars Jr. NTR. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Shriya Saran will be seen in extended cameo roles. Charan also has his father's Acharya in his pipeline.
