Rakhi Sawant summoned by Maharashtra cyber cell over 'IGL' controversy

Actor Rakhi Sawant has been summoned by the Maharashtra cyber cell to record her statement on February 27, in connection with controversial comments made by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia on the show India's Got Latent (IGL).
The news was confirmed by ANI.
Although not a panelist on the episode featuring Allahbadia, Sawant has previously appeared as a guest on an episode of IGL, which is hosted by comedian Samay Raina.

Along with Sawant, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani and Allahbadia have also been summoned by the Maharashtra cyber cell to record their statements on February 24.
Raina, who missed recording his statement on February 18, was denied an extension till March 17 and has been issued a second summons.
IG Yashasvi Yadav said an FIR has been registered against all members involved in all episodes of IGL.

'IGL' controversy: A total of 42 individuals summoned
The Maharashtra cyber cell has summoned 42 people, including artists, producers, and influencers in the case.
"FIR has been registered against all members who played roles in all episodes of the show," Yadav said.
The authorities have ordered the removal of all videos under investigation and mandated the deactivation of IGL's account until the inquiry concludes.

'IGL' show and the controversy it sparked
IGL is Raina's YouTube show with a rotating panel of guests. The controversy started when podcaster Allahbadia made "obscene" remarks during an episode.
This prompted multiple FIRs to be filed against the parties involved in different states, including Maharashtra and Assam.
On February 18, the Supreme Court granted Allahbadia interim protection from arrest while also condemning him for his "dirty and perverted" comments.
