"Yes, I'm married," Rakhi Sawant finally admits reports of marriage
After days of speculation, B-town celebrity Rakhi Sawant has finally admitted that she had gotten married last week. "Yes, I am married. Rakhi got married in Mumbai last Sunday to an NRI
Now, after flip-flopping for a while, Rakhi finally accepted that she got married in a hush-hush affair at JW Marriott on the night of Sunday, 28 July. The ceremony was attended by only 4-5 people. Rakhi further revealed that her husband's name is Ritesh and he resides in the UK. "He has already left (India).. and I will join him," she added.
I shall continue to work in India: Rakhi
Clarifying about her future plans, Rakhi said, "I shall continue to work whatever I get in India, so will shuttle for that. I always wanted to produce TV shows and I think my long-standing dream will now be fulfilled."
Earlier, Rakhi had denied reports of her wedding, scolded media
Earlier, Rakhi had rubbished reports of her wedding and maintained that she isn't going to marry before 2020. "It is not true that I have married. I was just doing a bridal shoot in JW Marriott, last night," Rakhi had told SpotboyE. Further schooling the media, a miffed Rakhi had asked, "Why are we actors written about so lightly?"
If an actress has 'mehendi,' she is assumed married: Rakhi
Scolding the media, Rakhi had said, "If an actress has Mehendi on her hands or sindoor in her forehead, she is assumed to be married. If an actress visits a hospital, tongues start wagging that either she is planning a baby or having an abortion."
Everyone in the family are elated: Rakhi
Sharing her family's reaction post-marriage, Rakhi said, "My mom, brother and everyone in the family are elated. They all were there. We had a Hindu and a Christian wedding both in the hotel itself." According to Rakhi, Ritesh, a businessman is "a very private person and does not prefer talking to the media or being seen about much. He is.. a wonderful, sorted man."
Earlier, Rakhi faked wedding with Internet celebrity Deepak Kalal
Interestingly, this isn't the first time that Rakhi's wedding has grabbed headlines. Earlier, the actor-politician had announced that she was planning to marry controversial Internet celebrity Deepak Kalal. The couple even hosted a press conference sharing details about the nuptials. However eventually, it turned out to be a mere publicity stunt by the duo as the wedding was called off at the last minute.
This is the second time Rakhi has (actually) gotten married
To recall, this isn't the first time that Rakhi has tied the knot. The 40-year-old had married a man named Ashraf from Andheri back in 2004 soon after the success of her popular dance number, Pardesiya, according to a TOI report. Reportedly, Ashraf had financed the video. However, the marriage lasted barely for two-three months and Ashraf was arrested for fraud.
