Rakesh Roshan reveals what helped him heal during cancer treatment

Renowned filmmaker Rakesh Roshan recently opened up about his battle with early-stage throat cancer in a recent interview with India Today.
He revealed that constructing his farmhouse during chemotherapy was a big part of his healing process.
Shashi Ranjan, the director of Netflix's The Roshans and a close friend of the filmmaker, accompanied him and shared this inspiring story about Roshan's resilience and positivity amid uncertainty.

'He didn't know what was going to happen...'
Ranjan shared, "You have seen a glimpse of Rakesh ji's farmhouse, which I think is one of the best houses in India. He was undergoing chemotherapy when he built this house, and he didn't know what was going to happen to his life."
"Just imagine a man's positivity who is undergoing chemo for cancer. He is standing there and getting his house constructed when he doesn't even know if he will be able to live in it or not."
Single-minded focus
Making the house helped Roshan overcome 'cancer and depression'
Roshan further elaborated on his experience.
"I do one thing at a time. When I was making the house, I was just making the house. Nothing else was on my mind."
"Those three years had just passed making the house. That's why, maybe, I came out of that cancer and depression."
"I would take my chemo, my radiation, sit in the car, go to Khandala, and stand outside my house and see the house being made brick by brick."
Upcoming projects
Roshan's future plans and recent Netflix series
When asked about directing a new Krrish film, the director shared, "You won't believe this. Yesterday, I was sitting with my family when my daughter asked me, 'So you have made films, you made a documentary now... what's next?,' and that kept me thinking 'Yes, now what's next? What should I do? I have to do something new. I have to break some boundaries again.'"
Meanwhile, The Roshans—a series featuring him and his family's achievements is currently streaming on Netflix.
