Rakesh Roshan plans to re-release 'Kaho Naa...,' 'Karan Arjun': Report
Celebrated Indian filmmaker, Rakesh Roshan, who turned 75 on Friday, revealed his plans to re-release the iconic film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai in January 2025. The 2000 romance movie—which marked the debut of his son Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel—will be celebrating its 25th anniversary on January 14. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, he confirmed these plans while discussing his birthday celebrations and recent industry trends.
'Karan Arjun' re-release is also on the cards
Roshan also hinted at the possibility of re-releasing another classic film, Karan Arjun (1995), which will complete 30 years on January 13 next year. Helmed by Roshan, the movie featured Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in lead roles, alongside Kajol and Mamta Kulkarni in crucial roles. When asked about this potential re-release, he responded, "The plan is there. But we'll do it one by one."
Roshan's views on box office trends and film success
Roshan shared his insights on recent box office trends and the success of films like Stree 2. He emphasized the importance of delivering what audiences want, stating, "Stree 2 is very entertaining. We need to give the audience what they want in a film." However, he also acknowledged that predicting a film's financial success is challenging as "every film has its own destiny."
'Krrish 4' update: 'Very soon, you'll hear something about it'
Roshan also provided an update on the highly anticipated Krrish 4. When asked about the project's progress and potential start date, he revealed that work is underway and fans can expect news soon. "We are working on it and very soon, you'll hear something about it," he said. After an 11-year break, the fourth installment of Roshan's superhero franchise, Krrish, is reportedly set to begin production next year.
