Rajpal Yadav's crores worth of property confiscated over unpaid loans
The Central Bank of India has reportedly seized Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav's property in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, due to a non-payment of a loan. Per an ABP report, the loan was taken to produce Yadav's 2012 film Ata Pata Laapata. The property, situated in the posh Seth Enclave area, is said to be worth crores. The bank's Mumbai Bandra branch initiated the action to recover the outstanding amount.
Loan taken in Yadav's father's name, said sources
The insiders disclosed that the loan was taken in the name of Yadav's father, Narangi. The non-payment of this loan led to the bank's decision to seize the property. Bank officials from Mumbai had arrived in Shahjahanpur two days before the seizure to initiate proceedings. A banner was put up on the property on Sunday—declaring it as now belonging to the Central Bank of India. The banner also cautioned against any transactions involving the purchase or sale of the property.
Bank officials formally took control of property on Monday
The final seizure occurred on Monday morning when bank officials formally took control of the property. This move has drawn significant attention and underscores Yadav's ongoing financial woes. Yadav, known for his roles in films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, is a beloved figure in Bollywood. However, his career has seen its share of ups and downs. Ata Pata Laapata, for which the loan was taken, did not perform well at the box office, leading to financial losses for Yadav.
