'Dostana 2' to have John Abraham, Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor?
Dostana was one of the funniest flicks of 2008, starring Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, and Abhishek Bachchan. It tells the story of Sam and Kunal, who pretend to be a gay couple to get an apartment, and then they meet Neha. A love triangle ensues along with loads of laughs. And, now the buzz is that Dharma Productions is getting ready with Dostana 2.
Rajkummar to replace Abhishek, Janhvi takes Priyanka's seat
Rumors are rife that Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor could be playing the lead characters, along with John. Nothing has been confirmed yet, however. Earlier, Abhishek had said that the shooting of the film might start "later in the year ... November if I am not mistaken." However, now it seems, he has been replaced. Question remains will Rajkummar-John jodi click as John-Abhishek?
Reportedly, 'Dostana 2' is slated to release in 2020
Further, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions is reportedly planning to release the movie in 2020. The first one was directed by Tarun Mansukhani, and produced by Dharma. The second installment is however yet to get a director. Dostana's storyline revolved around gay relationship and was well received by audiences, and for its second instalment, fans would be looking forward to the madness, all over again.
Earlier, Sidharth Malhotra was rumored to be in lead role
Last year it was speculated that Dostana 2 will be made with Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead. However, KJo rubbished the rumors, and said, "All news circulating about DOSTANA 2 is untrue!!! Lots of speculation which is entirely baseless!!!" In January, it was reported that Alia Bhatt was approached for Dostana 2. KJo shot down that one too.

Meanwhile, John Abraham, last seen in Romeo Akbar Walter, will next be doing Batla House, and Pagalpanti. On the other hand, Rajkummar's next is Mental Hai Kya, alongside Kangana Ranaut and Made In China, while Janhvi is currently gearing up for Gunjan Saxena biopic.
