Shahid opts out of Imtiaz's film; Rajkummar steps in
There's a bad news for all those who were eagerly waiting for the reunion of Imtiaz Ali and Shahid Kapoor after 'Jab We Met'. Latest media reports have it that Shahid has walked out of Imtiaz's next due to unknown reasons. The 'Padmaavat' actor has been replaced by Rajkummar Rao.
The untitled film is apparently a two-hero project
A media report stated, "Shahid was very excited about this film. He even gave a look test for this in November last year. But things didn't fall into place post that." "There were some issues with the script and both Shahid and Imtiaz decided to put the movie on the backburner. However, now Shahid has completely pulled out of the movie," it added.
No hard feelings between the actor and the director
"Shahid told Imtiaz that he cannot do it and has taken up other projects too. Imtiaz has accepted this decision and there are no ill feelings between the actor and the director," the report further said.
The film was expected to go on floors in April
Imtiaz and Shahid were to start the untitled project in April but that did not happen. Sasha then went on to sign 'Arjun Reddy' Hindi remake and a film with 'Airlift' director Raja Krishna Menon. However, Rajkummar has now come on board for Imtiaz's film and the director is making changes in the script to suit his personality.
