Rajkumar Hirani's 'Sanju' wins hearts and awards at IFFM 2018
The IFFM or the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne was held on August 12. Several noteworthy films were recognized and their stars were honored. Rani Mukherji was in attendance as the guest of honor at the festival. However, the film that received the biggest praise from all quarters was 'Sanju'. It was the clear favorite of the night and bagged awards across various categories.

Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Sanju' won the night and how. Rajkumar Hirani won the Best Director Award for the biopic on Sanjay Dutt's life that has received widespread acclaim. Ranbir, of course, won the IFFM Vanguard award. He deservedly won for his dedication to the role and bringing Sanjay's journey to life on-screen. Vicky Kaushal also bagged an award for the supporting role of Kamli.
'Sanju' is a commercial and critical hit
Hirani reported that he was looking forward to screening 'Sanju' at La Trobe University. It comes as no surprise that Hirani seeks to further the film's acclaim. 'Sanju' has already taken the box-office by storm by blazing into the Rs. 200crore club. It opened to brilliant reviews and continued strongly after that. The success of the film signaled an era of biopics in Bollywood.
The night was about cinema ultimately
Although 'Sanju' received huge recognition, the night was about Indian cinema's victories. On that note, Rani got her recognition for her excellent acting in 'Hichki'. Manoj Bajpayee too went home with an award for his role in the yet-to-be-released 'Gali Guleiyan'. Richa Chadha and Freida Pinto were recognized for their roles in 'Love Sonia'. The film highlights the sex-trafficking industry.
