
Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' wraps up shooting; release date awaited

The much-awaited action movie Coolie, starring superstar Rajinikanth, has wrapped its shoot. Production house Sun Pictures took to social media to share the news, calling it a "super wrap."
The shooting started in July 2024 under the direction of Lokesh Kanagaraj and ended in March 2025.
The star-studded cast also includes Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Reba Monica John, Aamir Khan in a cameo role, and Pooja Hegde in a special dance number.

'Coolie' features top-notch technical crew
The film features an impressive technical team with Anirudh composing music, Girish Gangadharan overseeing cinematography, Philomin Raj editing, and Anbariv choreographing stunts.
The dialogues for Coolie are written by Kanagaraj and Chandhru Anbazhagan, who also worked on the screenplay.
Produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner, the movie will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada languages.

Aamir Khan's involvement in 'Coolie' almost confirmed
Director Kanagaraj's recent birthday post for Bollywood actor Khan has further stoked rumors of Khan's involvement in Coolie.
Both the actors celebrated their birthdays on March 14.

Release details
'Coolie' release date and director's future plans
The official release date for Coolie is yet to be announced. However, trade reports suggest that if the film doesn't arrive in August, it may get a festival weekend release in September or October.
The makers of Coolie are currently expecting confirmation from Sun Pictures to finalize their release dates.
Meanwhile, director Kanagaraj is reportedly looking to broaden his cinematic universe with a Rolex standalone movie and a Vikram sequel marking its end.
