
Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' sets record with ₹120cr Prime Video deal: Report

Amazon Prime Video has bagged the digital streaming rights of Rajinikanth's upcoming Tamil film Coolie for a whopping ₹120cr, said reports.
It reportedly equals the highest OTT deal in Tamil cinema history, along with Vijay's Leo.
It beats the previous record-holders like GOAT and Jailer, which were sold for ₹110cr and ₹100cr, respectively.

Produced by Sun Pictures, Coolie stars an ensemble cast including Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir.
The film's music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander and has visuals by Girish Gangadharan and editing by Philomin Raj.
Lokesh Kanagaraj, the director of the film, recently celebrated his 39th birthday on set, adding to the buzz around this highly-anticipated project.

With the ₹120cr deal for Coolie, the movie now joins the list of Tamil cinema's top OTT rights deals.
Other movies to have previously landed high-value deals include Netflix's GOAT (₹110cr), Jailer (₹100cr), Vidaamuyarchi (₹100cr), and Amazon Prime's Kanguva (₹100cr).
Netflix's Good Bad Ugly and Amazon Prime's Vettaiyan reportedly fetched ₹95cr and ₹90cr, respectively.
Coolie also features a cameo by Aamir Khan.
