Superstar Rajinikanth's look from his upcoming film Coolie was unveiled by director Lokesh Kanagaraj on social media. The poster features Rajinikanth as "Deva," donning a rugged look with an arm-badge numbered 1421. The film, which commenced shooting in July, boasts a star-studded cast including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Soubin Shahir. Rumors also suggest a special cameo by Aamir Khan.
Director Kanagaraj reveals character posters
Kanagaraj recently shared character posters of the lead actors in Coolie, revealing their on-screen names. The film, which revolves around gold trafficking, is currently being filmed in Vizag. These unique posters have successfully piqued the interest of fans. The director's social media post read, "Superstar @rajinikanth sir as #Deva in #Coolie. Thank you so much for this @rajinikanth sir. It's going to be a blast (sic)."
Khan's special appearance in 'Coolie?'
There are speculations about Bollywood actor Aamir Khan making a special appearance in Coolie. However, the makers have not confirmed this news yet. If true, this would mark a reunion for Khan and Rajinikanth after three decades. They last shared screen space in the 1995 film Aatank Hi Aatank, which also starred Juhi Chawla.
'Coolie' to release in 2025
Produced by Sun Pictures with music by Anirudh Ravichander, Coolie is slated for a release in the latter half of 2025. The exact release date has not been announced yet. Contrary to fans' expectations of the film being part of Lokesh's Cinematic Universe, the director clarified that Coolie is a stand-alone film. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth will next be seen in Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel. The film is set to compete with Suriya's Kanguva at the box office on October 10.
