Raj Anadkat quit 'TMKOC' for career evolution, better opportunities
Popular television actor Raj Anadkat shot to fame through the long-running sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, where he played the role of Tappu. However, in December 2022, he abruptly quit the show, leaving the fans of the show in utter dismay. Finally, after over a year, he addressed fans' queries about his exit from the Asit Kumarr Modi-produced show. Anadkat was a part of the sitcom for five years.
Anadkat's motivation for leaving the show
In a YouTube video shared on Thursday, Anadkat revealed, "I did this show for five years and I did over 1,000 episodes for the show. This journey was very beautiful. But as an actor, I wanted to grow more in this field. I wanted to explore different characters. I took this decision and I am thankful to god for this opportunity." "Sometimes you have to make such decisions in life. It is a part and parcel of your life."
Anadkat's journey on 'TMKOC' was 'wonderful'
Anadkat expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity and added, "If I have to describe my TMKOC experience in one word, I would call it wonderful, mind-blowing, amazing. I learned a lot from this show. There were several ups and downs. We laughed, cried, and had fun." He cheerfully reminisced, "My first international trip was also because of this show. We went to Singapore for a shoot."
In other news, Anadkat dismissed engagement rumors with co-star
On the personal front, last month, rumors circulated suggesting that Anadkat was engaged to his Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah co-star Munmun Dutta, known as Babita Ji. However, Anadkat refuted these rumors on Instagram, labeling the engagement news as "false & baseless." Dutta, too, wrote a strongly-worded post on social media clarifying that the news had no legs.
