Teaser out! Ajay takes on Riteish Deshmukh in 'Raid 2'
What's the story
The much-awaited sequel of the 2018 blockbuster Raid, Raid 2, will release in theaters on May 1, 2025.
Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the movie features Ajay Devgn reprising his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik.
The over one-minute teaser, released by the makers on Friday, gives a glimpse of Patnaik's 75th raid against a powerful politician, played by Riteish Deshmukh.
Vaani Kapoor is also part of the cast.

'Raid 2' teaser: A glimpse into the high-stakes drama
The teaser begins with a recap of Patnaik's career, detailing his 74 raids and 74 transfers due to his not bowing down to pressure.
Saurabh Shukla, the antagonist of Raid, narrates Patnaik's story from jail and asks whose life Patnaik is making miserable now.
The video ends with a montage of action, cash, and intense dialogues exchanged between Patnaik and his new target, Dadabhai (Deshmukh).

Character reveal
Deshmukh's transformation for 'Raid 2'
Deshmukh's transition into a politician for Raid 2 has left fans excited.
The first-look poster of his character features him in a serious avatar, dressed in a traditional kurta-pyjama and topped with a half Indo-Western jacket.
The role is a departure from Deshmukh's acclaimed comedic roles, and his intense avatar has excited fans.
They hope his political background will add authenticity and depth to the character.

'Raid 2' production and release details
Raid 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar.
Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, the film is a Panorama Studios production.
It was initially slated for release on November 15, 2024, but was eventually delayed due to post-production work.
To recall, Raid, also starring Ileana D'Cruz, was inspired by a real-life income tax raid that happened in the 1980s.
