Raghava Lawrence announces 'Hunter' in collaboration with Venkat Mohan
Choreographer-turned-actor Raghava Lawrence is preparing to captivate audiences with his 25th film, an action-adventure titled Hunter. Venkat Mohan will be directing the film, with music by Devi Sri Prasad. On the Tamil New Year on Sunday, the makers announced the project and also unveiled the movie's first-look poster. This milestone film holds a special place in Lawrence's career as it marks his quarter-century acting venture.
'Hunter' slated for summer 2025 release
Hunter is set to hit screens in the Summer of 2025. Taking to X/Twitter, Lawrence shared the announcement poster and wrote, "I'm extremely happy to collaborate with Producers @Gteleflims @imManishShah & @SathyaJyothi for the first time. I'm happy to work with Director @ivenkatmohan. He is so talented...I'm so elated to work again with @ThisisDSP after my first directorial. This is going to be special, (sic)."

Lawrence balances 'Hunter' with upcoming project 'Benz'
In addition to Hunter, Lawrence is also set to commence filming for another project titled Benz, which was announced earlier on Sunday. This film is a collaboration with director Bakkiyaraj Kannan, marking their second venture together. G Squad—the production company led by acclaimed filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj—is backing the project. Benz's first-look poster featured a striking red helmet mask with blood stains, resembling the iconic Hollywood superhero Deadpool.
'Back to Back': Social media users expressed excitement
With the revelation of two consecutive projects on Sunday, Lawrence has ignited waves of anticipation among his fans. Reacting to the announcement, a user on X commented on the actor's post, stating, "Back to Back...way to go master," while another echoed similar sentiments, expressing, "Master on charge with fire and heart emojis." Additionally, a user speculated that Lawrence might portray a raw avatar in Hunter. The film is being produced by Manish Shah, Sendhil Thyagarajan, and Arjun Thyagarajan.
Meanwhile, Lawrence will make a cameo in 'Padai Thalaivan'
Benz and Hunter marks the return of Lawrence after his last appearances in Jigarthanda DoubleX and Chandramukhi 2 (2023). Meanwhile, after the passing of actor-politician Vijayakanth, Lawrence made headlines by announcing a collaboration with the late actor's son, Shanmuga Pandian. Lawrence will make a cameo appearance in Pandian's forthcoming film Padai Thalaivan. It's directed by U Anbu and features music by Ilaiyaraaja.
