Raaj Shaandilyaa will direct 'Hera Pheri 3' on this condition
Acclaimed filmmaker Raaj Shaandilyaa, known for his successful comedy films, has confirmed that he was approached to direct the much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shaandilyaa revealed that he was contacted by the film's producers and lead actors—Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty. However, he declined the offer due to his reservations about the script and concept.
'I'll not touch the film unless we get something brilliant...'
Shaandilyaa said, "The producers did call me lekin mujhe kahani samaj mein nahin aayi (But I didn't understand the story). I felt that if we have waited so many years for part 3, toh kuch saal aur wait kar sakte hai (we can wait a few more years)." "I'll not touch the film unless we get something brilliant in terms of concept and script. I guess it's stuck now, but if things fall into place I'd love to make it."
Shaandilyaa's eagerness to work with Kumar
Despite declining the offer to direct Hera Pheri 3, Shaandilyaa expressed his desire to collaborate with Kumar in the future. He shared, "I also want to work with Akshay sir. He keeps telling me 'Mere saath film karo!' However, I feel that when we get the idea of a film jo unhone na kiya ho aur maine bhi na kiya ho (that neither he nor I have done before), then I will definitely do that film."

Shaandilyaa, best known for the Dream Girl franchise, is currently awaiting the release of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. Starring Vijay Raaz, Rajkummar Rao, and Triptii Dimri, the comedy film will release on October 11, clashing with Jigra. It is Rao's fourth film of 2024 after Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, Srikanth, and Stree 2.
