Singer Palak lodges complaint after being stalked, threatened by 'professor'
Playback singer Palak Muchhal recently lodged a complaint against a 30-year-old man for allegedly stalking and threatening her. The accused, identified as Rajesh Shukla, claims to be a professor in his native region, Sasaram in Bihar. Soon after the complaint, the Mumbai Police tracked him down at the CSMT railway station and arrested him.
He had come to Mumbai to meet Muchhal
During his interrogation, Shukla revealed that he had come to Mumbai around two weeks ago to meet Muchhal. He said that he got her number from a film directory and requested her to meet him. After she politely turned down his request, he continued to call and text. Soon, his messages became abusive and threatening.
He even threatened to come to her residence
In her complaint, Muchhal mentioned that after she started to ignore his calls and texts, he said that he knew where she lived and threatened to come to the building. A Police officer said, "An FIR under Section 354 (D) (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC was registered by the Amboli police and the accused was arrested."
