The lovebirds, who got married as per Christian rituals earlier, tied the nuptial knot according to the traditional Hindu ceremony yesterday. It was a grand celebration at Jodhpur's Umaid Bhawan which ended last evening, after which the couple headed to Delhi for their wedding reception. Here are all the details.
Nick made a royal entry for the wedding
Nick has been quite impressed with the Indian culture, and was seen enjoying every single tradition of the wedding. In fact, the groom chose to make a grand entry at the venue in a traditional yet royal manner. Reportedly, Nick chose to arrive at the wedding venue on a ghodi, in line with the traditions. That's certainly a perfect entry.
Priyanka looked stunning in red
It is said that a girl looks best on her D-day and this was true for Priyanka as well. The diva looked stunning as she wore the traditional red color lehenga for her Hindu wedding. As per a DNA report, Priyanka's wedding dress was designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla (though it is not confirmed). She also wore the traditional chooda.
Priyanka-Nick's made their wedding a royal affair
Indeed, both Priyanka-Nick looked ravishing on their big day but it was their chemistry that made everyone fall in love with the couple. Besides, they also made sure to make their wedding a royal affair. "Before the varmala ceremony (garland exchange), Priyanka-Nick took a ride on an elephant around the premises of the palace and arrived at the main wedding area," the source stated.
They took wedding vows on a 40-feet high mandap
Apart from the royal entry, Priyanka-Nick's wedding mandap was also one of its kind. According to a Filmfare report, the wedding mandap was 40 feet high and was set in Baradari Lawns with the backdrop of the royal Mehrangarh Fort. Talking about the decors, the wedding venue was decorated with red flowers which were picked from various parts of Jodhpur.
Priyanka-Nick to host grand reception in Delhi
After the grand wedding festivities in the royal city of Jodhpur, the newlyweds Priyanka-Nick will host their wedding reception in Delhi. The couple has recently left for the national capital and were spotted at the Jodhpur Airport. Their wedding reception will take place on December 4 and will be attended by the country's big shots.
