Celebrations begin: Nick Jonas-Priyanka Chopra, and families, fly to Jodhpur
The wedding season is in full swing in Bollywood. After Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's dreamy Italian ceremony, it is now time for Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' much-anticipated wedding, after their whirlwind and very public romance had taken the media by storm. The couple flew out to Jodhpur, their wedding destination, on Thursday, November 29 amidst camera shutters clicking. Read about it here.
Cradled in love among families
Among the other people flying out, were Priyanka's mother, Madhu and her cousin Parineeti Chopra along with other family members. Madhu appeared to be escorting the family members. Notably, Nick's brother Joe Jonas and his fiancee, Game of Thrones star, Sophie Turner were also present. Soon to be wed Nick and Priyanka, wore big smiles on their faces as they waved at the cameras.
All decked up for the ceremonies
Priyanka, the bride to be, was dressed in a simple but beautiful white suit, complemented by a colorful dupatta. Nick kept his clothing casual, probably in anticipation of the journey, and wore a plain white tee shirt over trousers and slipped a sharp brown jacket over it. Mother, Madhu, stuck to traditional attire as she put on a resplendent blue sari.
We chased our pleasures here, dug our treasures there
While the lovebirds and their family members are embarking on a journey to Jodhpur where the wedding festivities will start in earnest, the celebrations already started on Wednesday, November 28. There was a puja at Priyanka's Mumbai home where Joe and Sophie were also in attendance. Priyanka chose to wear a pastel blue embroidered suit while Nick complemented her in his pink kurta pyjama.
Found an island in your arms, country in your eyes
The 36-year-old actress and the 26-year-old singer's pre-wedding ceremonies begin today, prior to their December 2 wedding. They will be held at Jodhpur's Mehrangarh Fort while the wedding is in Umaid Bhawan Palace. The ceremonies include sangeet and mehendi, while there is supposed to be an Indian and Christian wedding. Notably, the couple got engaged at a private roka ceremony this August, in Mumbai.
