Priyanka Chopra sues Nirav Modi for default of payments
A day after Nirav Modi was named in a Rs. 11,000+ crore fraud, Priyanka Chopra has sent him a legal notice. The reported action from the Bollywood actress comes in the wake of non-payment of dues for an ad campaign she did for Nirav Modi's diamond jewelry house, along with Sidharth Malhotra. Here's more.
Nirav's name has been embroiled in a major scam
The celebrity jeweler has been accused in a staggering Rs. 11,000 crore fraud which was reported by the state-run Punjab National Bank at one of its own branches in Mumbai. The scam was being run by PNB's official to help Nirav and others get credit without guarantees. The Enforcement Directorate has been raiding the home, offices and showrooms of the now elusive jeweler.
Sidharth Malhotra also looking to part ways with Nirav
Conscious of his image, Sidharth too is looking to end his association with Nirav. Reports suggest that the actor may refrain from shooting the two pending commercials for the jeweler's company. An official statement is awaited from both Sidharth and Priyanka.
Nirav is quite popular in Bollywood
Bollywood's association with Nirav goes way back. Actresses like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Chitrangada Singh and Shilpa Shetty have sported the jewelry designed by him on several occasions. Also, Lisa Haydon and Nimrat Kaur have been Nirav's guest at his store launch in New York. The designer has worked with quite a few Hollywood divas as well.
