Prabhas's 'The Raja Saab' delayed due to VFX work: Report
What's the story
Prabhas's much-anticipated horror-comedy, The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, has been delayed.
The film was slated for an April 10 release, but a source close to the project confirmed to Hindustan Times that it won't hit screens on time.
The delay isn't due to Prabhas's health issues or other commitments, as previously speculated, but because of the film's VFX-heavy requirements.
Production progress
'Maruthi wants it to look seamless...'
The source revealed to HT, "Maruthi's film is VFX heavy, and he wants it to look seamless so the audience can have a fun experience.
It has not yet been finalized when the film will be released, but there are still some good spots available throughout the year when it can be released."
"But a new date will only be announced once they make good headway on post-production."
Production challenges
'The Raja Saab' faced delays since 2022
The Raja Saab has faced considerable delays since it began production in 2022.
In December last year, the team announced they had completed 80% of the shoot.
Despite the rumors of a teaser releasing around Christmas or New Year, little has been revealed about the film.
Cast and crew
'The Raja Saab' stars and music composer
Apart from Prabhas, The Raja Saab also stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar in lead roles.
Thaman S is composing the film's music.
Once they finalize the new release date for the film, the makers plan to release a statement.
The production house, People Media Factory, and director Maruthi are yet to comment on the delay.
