Confirmed! Prithviraj Sukumaran to star in Prabhas-led action film 'Salaar'
We finally have some update about Salaar and an exciting one! Its lead actor Prabhas has confirmed that Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran "is also doing that film." This update was shared by Prabhas in Kerala at a promotional event for his upcoming release, Radhe Shyam. Touted as a period romantic incarnation drama, Radhe Shyam hits theaters this Friday, that is on March 11.
Why does this story matter?
Sukumaran made his Telugu debut in 2010 with Police Police. The buddy cop film starred Sriram, Kamalinee Mukherjee, and Sanjjanaa in the other principal roles. After that, he has not done any Telugu film, so this also makes Salaar a much-awaited project. Moreover, the film is being made in Kannada, too, marking Sukumaran's Sandalwood debut. This surely will help him build a pan-India image.
What did Prabhas say in the press meet?
While addressing the press, Prabhas said, "Prithviraj sir is doing that film (Salaar). We are lucky (to have him) and so happy that he accepted to be part of it," stopping short of revealing Sukumaran's character in it. He had said previously that Salaar is an "exciting film and my character is extremely violent. It's something I've never done before. It's a pan-India film."
Know all about 'Salaar'
