Alok is in a state of tremendous shock, says lawyer
Alok, who had rubbished Vinta's claims of sexual harassment, has hired a criminal lawyer to deal with the case. And while the veteran actor is reportedly avoiding any media interaction at the moment, his lawyer told Republic TV, "Alok Nath is in a state of tremendous shock and doctor has advised him to take bed rest for a couple of days".
Alok to hold a press conference soon
Alok's lawyer Ashok Saraogi also claimed that the veteran actor is innocent and all the allegations leveled against him are false. He mentioned that the actor would hold a press conference at an appropriate time. However, there is a buzz the press conference will be held within two days wherein Alok will address the allegations. Let's see what he has to say.
Backstory: Vinta accused Alok of raping her 19 years ago
In a Facebook post, Vinta Nanda, writer/producer of 'Tara', accused Alok of raping her in an inebriated state. "I have faint memory after that. I can remember more liquor being poured into my mouth and I remember being violated endlessly," she wrote. Vinta also alleged that Alok even went after Navneet Nishan, the lead actress of 'Tara' who ended up slapping him.
Alok neither denied nor accepted the claims
While the revelation left the nation shocked, Alok Nath has neither denied or accepted the allegations. He said, "It (rape) must have happened, but someone else would have done it". If this was not all, Alok also went on to say that it's just an attempt to tarnish his image. He even claimed that he was the man behind Vinta's successful career.
