RIP! YouTuber-rapper Lil Bo Weep passes away at 22
YouTuber and rapper Winona Brooks, popularly known by her stage name Lil Bo Weep, has passed away, her father confirmed on Facebook on Sunday (March 6). She was 22. While the exact cause of the Australian singer's death was not revealed by her father, Matthew Schofield, he indicated his daughter was struggling with "depression, trauma, PTSD, and drug addiction." May she rest in peace!
What did Schofield's post say?
"This weekend we lost the fight for my daughter's life against depression, trauma, PTSD, and drug addiction that we have been fighting since we got her back from America through emergency repatriation DFAT (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) but broken," Schofield's Facebook post read. "She fought hard against her demons as we all did side by side next to her (sic)," he wrote.
'She is no longer hurting now'
"As her dad I am proud of her beyond words as she is my hero, my daughter and my best friend that I love so so much She is no longer hurting now with the universe wanting their angel back (sic)," the post further read. "A big part of me is lost at the moment," Schofield said while requesting privacy from his "close friends."
Her last Instagram post was on Wednesday
Born in January 2000, Bo Weep debuted in the music scene in 2015 when she began sharing her songs on SoundCloud. Her last post on the platform was a minute-and-a-half-long song titled PTSD. On Wednesday, she had posted a heartbreaking video on Instagram—her last post there—mourning the anniversary of her unborn child. "I've been crying all day, so I'm sorry," she had said.
Here's what she said in last Instagram post
"Around this time last year, I lost my child and I would like to do something in remembrance...preferably spread some flowers at a beach...spend the day just mourning," the Australian artist said in the video. "Not only have I been mourning my child, I have recently found out my fertility has been affected by growing up with a severe eating disorder," her caption read.
