BMC imposed a state-wide ban on plastic effective June 23
For the uninitiated, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) levied a ban on plastic items in Maharashtra that came into effect on Saturday. Till now, BMC's appointed inspectors have collected a total fine of more than Rs. 7 lakh from all those found violating the ban.
