Jackky-Vashu Bhagnani file complaint against 'BMCM' director for fund misuse
Pooja Entertainment, led by Vashu Bhagnani and his son Jackky Bhagnani, has lodged a legal complaint against filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar. The accusation centers on the alleged misappropriation of funds during the production of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The complaint was filed at Bandra Police Station on September 3, alleging that Zafar diverted subsidy funds provided by Abu Dhabi authorities for personal or unauthorized use.
Earlier, reports of non-payment emerged
Earlier, Zafar reportedly accused producer Bhagnani and his company Pooja Entertainment of not paying him ₹7.3 crore for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. This allegation follows previous accusations against Pooja Entertainment for non-payment of dues to crew members. While no immediate action has been taken yet, it is anticipated that Zafar will be summoned for questioning in the coming days as part of the police investigation into the recent allegations by producers.
'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' underperformed at the box office
Meanwhile, BMCM, the film at the center of this controversy, failed to impress both audiences and critics. The film, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, earned only around ₹100 crore against its ₹350 crore budget. To note, this is not the first time Pooja Entertainment has faced allegations of non-payment. FWICE President BN Tiwari had previously disclosed that the production house owes over ₹65 lakh to crew members on Mission Raniganj, Ganapath, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
