Alia Bhatt's 'Sadak 2' to hit floors in April
Alia Bhatt is in her happy space at the moment. Her last release Raazi was lauded by the audience and her upcoming movie Gully Boy is already creating a buzz. But apart from this, we are also waiting for Alia's much-talked-about movie Sadak 2. Helmed by renowned director Mahesh Bhatt, the movie will reportedly hit floors in April this year. Here's more on this.
It is a sequel to 1991 release 'Sadak'
Notably, Sadak-2'>Sadak 2 is the sequel to 1991 super hit movie Sadak starring Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in lead. The movie revolved around a girl who was forced into sex trade. Reportedly, Sadak was inspired by 1976 American movie Taxi Driver. Apart from Sanjay-Pooja, Sadak also featured late actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar who was appreciated for his performance as Maharani in the movie.
Interestingly, Mahesh has returned to direction after two decades
To recall, Sadak 2 was announced on Mahesh Bhatt's 70th birthday last year. It will mark Bhatt's return to direction after a long hiatus. Notably, Sadak 2 will also star Sanjay Dutt, Gulshan Grover and Aditya Roy Kapur in key roles. Interestingly, Pooja will be reuniting with Sanjay after 28 years. They were last seen together in Sadak itself.
It's a homecoming for us: Pooja
Pooja is also returning to acting after 17 long years. She was last seen in 2001 release Everybody Says I'm Fine. She is quite excited about Sadak 2 and called it a homecoming for the entire team. "I am working with my dad after long and so is Alia. So, there will be a lot of bonhomie on the set," she said.
'Sadak 2' to have heart-touching music
Meanwhile, Pooja will also be assisting daddy Mahesh in directing the movie. In fact, the two even went for a location hunt in Uttarakhand recently. "I will also be working behind the camera. It's a matter of pride for me as I have never assisted him. We have already begun work on the music, it's heart-wrenching," Pooja added. We can't wait!
