Last week, social media was abuzz with the news of Bollywood actress Pooja Batra tying the knot with Nawab Shah in a hush-hush manner. The duo got married in a traditional ceremony in New Delhi on July 4, which was attended by their respective families. And, now their wedding pictures are out, in which the couple is seen donning two different looks.
Pooja opted for minimal make-up for her wedding ceremonies
For her wedding ceremonies, Pooja chose to keep her bridal look subtle and opted for a light make-up. She wore a green saree, a pink, embroidered blouse along with a pink-red-orange dupatta, while the Tiger Zinda Hai actor complemented her with his beige color kurta-pyjama and navy blue pagdi. In the other photo, perhaps from their reception, the newlyweds opted for silver-colored traditional wear.

Instagram posts of both had dropped hints of their wedding
To recall, news of Pooja-Nawab's secret wedding came to light after the 42-year-old was spotted wearing chooda (bangles traditionally worn by a Punjabi bride) in her recent pictures. Also, Nawab's boomerang video on Instagram featuring a man's hand wearing a ring, and a woman's hand wearing chooda gave some hints. The actor captioned it as, "A story you can make a movie on."
We were in the same space emotionally, says Pooja
While confirming the news, Pooja said that she married Nawab when she "realized that he's the man I want to spend the rest of my life with." "I knew of Nawab since we were in the same profession. However, we strongly connected after we were reintroduced by a common friend this February. We were in the same space emotionally and hit it off instantly."
Nawab wanted to marry Pooja "right after our first meeting"
Nawab, meanwhile, admitted that he wanted to marry Pooja "right after our first meeting." "When I reconnected with her, a relationship wasn't on my mind. However, at this stage, you feel the void. Pooja entered my life like sunshine and I was sure that I wanted to spend my life with her. It was as if we were destined to be together," he added.
Pooja, earlier married to a surgeon, got divorced in 2011
Notably, this happens to be Pooja's second marriage. She was earlier married to US-based orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Sonu S Ahluwalia. The couple got married in 2002. However, their marriage hit rock bottom eight years later, and they finally got divorced in 2011. Talking about her failed marriage, Pooja had once stated, "I've lived through the most grueling, lonely and difficult phase of my life".
