#PMNarendraModi first look: Vivek Oberoi looks unconvincing as PM Modi
It's raining biopics in Bollywood these days. After the trailer release of the biopic of late Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, it's time for yet another political biopic, this time of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Titled as PM NARENDRA MODI, the movie features Vivek Oberoi in the titular role. The makers have just shared Vivek's first look from the movie, but he looks unconvincing!
Dissecting the poster
In the first look poster, Vivek was seen wearing a mustard colored kurta with the national flag in the background. The poster also boasts the tagline - Deshbhakti Hi Meri Shakti Hai. However, one is not particularly floored by the depiction.
Will Vivek be able to do justice to this role?
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis unveiled the first look
The first look was unveiled in 23 languages by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai today. Director Omung Kumar has been working on the project for over two years now and is quite excited about the movie. The biographical drama is based on PM Modi's life and will be shot in Gujarat, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, among other regions in the country.
The biopic to hit the floors this month
Reportedly, PM Modi's biopic will hit the floors later this month. "The team acquired the necessary permissions to go forth with the film only a few weeks ago. Vivek has been working on his distinct looks and will be part of extensive workshops," a source was quoted saying. We wonder if this movie will prove pivotal in reviving Vivek's otherwise drowning career in Bollywood.
Father and producer Suresh Oberoi is all excited
Producer Suresh Oberoi (who happens to be Vivek's father) said, "It's the good fortune of Vivek Anand Oberoi that he is playing the role of a karm-yogi, a great leader, who has been accepted by not just India but the whole world."
Interestingly, Paresh Rawal was the first choice for the role
Interestingly, there have been reports that veteran actor Paresh Rawal was, initially, roped in to portray PM Modi onscreen. However, the actor backed out of the movie due to unknown reasons, after which the role went to Vivek Oberoi. Notably, the makers are yet to announce the release date of the movie.
