#PlaylistAlert: 5 recently-released South Indian romantic songs that are chartbusters
Valentine's Day is almost over, but listening to romantic songs does not really need any particular day or time. If you are bored of the same, old classic melodies such as Kadhal Sadugudu or Ethu Kari Raavilum, we have got you covered. In the past few weeks, many South Indian love songs were released and we have listed the top five.
'Kalaavathi' from 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata'
Kalaavathi from Sarkaru Vaari Paata arrests your attention right from its initial chorus. It has a pretty traditional vibe to it and is based on the Kalavathi Raag. For this number, ace music composer S Thaman has expertly mixed different Indian musical instruments like thavil, kanjira, thalam, and nadaswaram with western ones like guitar, mandolin, and electric violin. Sid Sriram, as usual, is flawless.
'Megham' from 'Hey Sinamika'
Are you that reticent fellow who cannot express your feelings to your dream woman? Megham from the Tamil film Hey Sinamika will help you there. The melodious song sets your mood right with its welcome tune in piano and then slowly transforms into a high-energy number with upbeat musical elements. Govind Vasantha of 96 fame has composed the song and done vocals, too.
'Pottu Thotta Pournami' from 'Hridayam'
Next, we have Pottu Thotta Pournami from Hridayam. The song lands smoothly on your senses and will keep you hooked throughout its almost four-minute-long run. Sachin Balu and Megha Josekutty's voices complement each other, effectively uplifting the Hesham Abdul Wahab composition. Usage of instruments like zurna, guitars, bass, saxophone, pumpkin drums, brushes, udu, and shakers work in favor of the song.
'Bae' from 'Don'
Master composer Anirudh Ravichander brings us Bae from Don, which stars Sivakarthikeyan. The composer-actor duo has never failed us and this track gets added to that list. If you are in the mood to dance like college-goers with your partner, Bae is perfect for you. Vignesh Shivan's lyrics have a zing of teenage folly to it and Aditya RK's rendition captures the mood perfectly.
'Naan Pizhai' from 'Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal'
Remember that rainy evening when you simply wanted to watch water droplets fall on your window glass panes? When you do that next time, make Naan Pizhai your musical buddy. The Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal song is soulful and sounds like a typical AR Rahman composition. Ravichander's music, Ravi G and Shashaa Tirupati's mellifluous vocals, and Shivan's words make this song a complete package.
