'Pathaan' to 'Dangal': Top highest-grossing Hindi films of all time
Every time a big-budget film is released, all eyes go on the box office numbers. Ever since Shah Rukh Khan-led Pathaan hit the screens, the ticket window collection figures have exploded- from Rs. 100 crore to Rs. 500 crore, and now Rs. 1,000 crore. Here's a look at the top four highest-grossing Hindi films that have set the cash registers ringing in India.
'Pathaan'
Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan, which stars actors SRK, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, has gained the top spot in the highest-grossing Hindi films in India (nett collection) list. The information was shared by entertainment industry trade analysts. The film has crossed Rs. 1,023.5 crore worldwide whereas Rs. 525.25 crore is the business in India, per multiple reports.
'Baahubali 2' (Hindi)
Before Pathaan, filmmaker SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 reigned at the top position. However, it was dethroned on Friday after Pathaan beat its domestic collection of Rs. 510.99 crore. According to Sacnilk, the gross worldwide collection for the Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer is Rs. 1,030.42 crore. The film now stands at the second position in India in the highest-grossing films category.
'KGF: Chapter 2' (Hindi)
Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 stands at the third position on the list. Before Pathaan made its entry on the list, this Yash starrer sequel which also featured Bollywood actors Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon, had secured a glorious second position. The second installment raked in about Rs. 380 crore (nett collection) in mere 20 days of its release in India.
'Dangal'
Aamir Khan's 2016 film Dangal has shifted to the fourth position on this list. A biopic on Mahavir Singh Phogat and his wrestler daughters, the movie collected about Rs. 374.43 crore at the Hindi box office in India. A superhit movie, it also starred actors Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sakshi Talwar. Then-child actor Zaira Wasim was also a part of the film.
