'TMKOC's Jethalal gifts THIS to Paris Olympic medalist Aman Sehrawat
Wrestler Aman Sehrawat, India's bronze medalist at the recent Paris Olympic Games, had a dream come true as he met actor Dilip Joshi, who plays Jethalal in the popular Hindi sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The 21-year-old grappler also received a special gift from Joshi. Notably, Sehrawat, who secured the medal in the men's 57kg freestyle wrestling category, is an avid fan of the show.
Sehrawat's social media post, Joshi's response
Sehrawat took to Instagram to share the news of meeting Joshi and also posted several pictures. The star of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah also celebrated the wrestler's Olympic triumph by gifting him a snack hamper, as well as the iconic Gujarati jalebi-fafda combo. Expressing delight at meeting Sehrawat, Joshi shared the latter's post on his Instagram Story, too. He further congratulated the young grappler on his bronze medal win.
Sehrawat's journey at Paris Olympics
At the Paris Olympics, Sehrawat's path to the bronze medal was certainly not easy. He had to overcome Puerto Rico's Darian Cruz in a 13-5 victory in the bronze medal match after his semifinal loss against Japan's top-seed Rei Higuchi. Despite the setback, Sehrawat emerged as India's youngest individual Olympic medalist at just 21 years and 24 days old.
Sehrawat's dedication to wrestling, admiration for 'TMKOC'
Sehrawat's dedication to wrestling and admiration for TMKOC became evident when he earlier revealed, "Tab to bas Taarak Mehta dekhna accha lagta hai (When I am not wrestling, I love to watch TMKOC)." The statement came after his bronze medal victory in Paris. To note, Sehrawat was the sole male wrestler from India at this year's Olympics. Moreover, his win took the country's overall Olympic medal tally in wrestling to eight: two silvers and six bronzes.
