Palak Sindhwani had panic attack on set amid 'TMKOC' tension
Palak Sindhwani, who plays Sonu Bhide in the hit sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has made some serious allegations against the show's producer Asit Kumarr Modi and his team. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, she claimed that she was accused of breaching her contract by promoting brands. However, Sindhwani said she was promised she could do ads when she signed the contract five years ago.
Sindhwani's struggle to discuss contract breach with Modi
Sindhwani got wind of the supposed contract breach through an official statement released by the makers. She tried to bring it up with Modi on September 14, but her meeting request was turned down. Even though she was feeling unwell and stressed, she was told that no one could meet her before September 18. "I shot for the show for 5-6 days with that anxiety," she said.
Sindhwani's panic attack on set amid contract controversy
The actor recalled having a panic attack on set because of all the stress. She said, "My brother had called me and the call was on speaker. I was shivering and my brother discovered that there was something wrong." Sindhwani also mentioned that despite her brother informing the production head about her condition, no one cared.
Sindhwani's meeting with Modi and alleged threat
When Sindhwani finally met Modi on September 18, she was accused of breaching the contract. She asked for clarification and informed them that it was not mentioned in her contract that she could not endorse brands. In response, the producer told her that every artist has a different contract. She also revealed that Modi threatened to delete her Instagram account if she continued to "fly high" because of it.
Sindhwani's allegations of financial exploitation by 'TMKOC' team
Sindhwani also claimed that the TMKOC team asked her to provide details of her past brand endorsements, indirectly hinting that they wanted a share of her earnings. She stated that the team never questioned her for five years but started doing so when she decided to leave the show. "They did not have any valid reason to stop me," she said, adding that she was singled out despite other cast members also endorsing brands.
