    What's the story

Padmaavat had to undergo a lengthy battle to see the light of day. Its release was marred by violence and arson in several states.

Multiplexes in four states refused to even screen it, despite the SC clearing it.

Still, the controversial movie is doing a wonderful job at the box office.

Read on to find out its commercial gains on Day 2.

    Earnings

Here's how much the film has earned so far

The film was, perhaps, destined to be a success and that's what the numbers suggest.

Sharing the figures, Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, "#Padmaavat has a HUMONGOUS Day 2 Had it been a smooth release [some states are not screening the film], the all-India biz would've touched Rs. 40 cr.Wed 5 cr, Thu 19 cr, Fri 32 cr. Total: Rs. 56 cr. India biz.SUPERB!

    Club

Will it enter the 100-cr club?

According to some trade analysts, the film would make its way to the 100-cr club right in its first week.

The transition from 100 to 200 crore club can also happen smoothly, given the fact it has two weeks of field time without any major releases.

For Deepika Padukone, the lead actress, the reactions have been "phenomenal."
