'Outer Range' trailer: An impressive Josh Brolin leads the show
Outer Range gets a trailer and release date! Starring Academy Award nominated actor Josh Brolin, the series is set to hit Amazon Prime Video on April 15. The trailer shows Brolin as a Wyoming cowboy "fighting for his land and family." The first season of Outer Range will consist of eight episodes, with two episodes premiering on day one. So, saddle up, folks!
Why does this story matter?
The series marks Brolin's return to the small screen in a lead role after nearly twenty years since Mister Sterling. The stellar actor was last seen in the Oscar-winning film Dune where he played the character of Gurney Halleck, weapons master of House Atreides and one of Paul's mentors. So, seeing him leading a series is interesting. Also, it marks his OTT debut.
What does the trailer tell us?
The trailer, lasting 2:22 minutes, makes one thing clear: stay away from the giant hole in the field as that's where the trouble brews! Royal Abbott (Brolin) is a patriarch of a ranching family, living somewhere in the Wyoming wilderness. Conflict comes in the form of Imogen Poots (The Father), seen as a mysterious drifter named Autumn, who unexpectedly shows up at Abbott's door.
Trailer also hints at supernatural links
Right after Autumn shows up, things take a different turn as recurring symbols start to haunt Brolin's family. And we see Brolin dipping his hand into what seems like a sinkhole that appears out of nowhere. A lot seems to be going on in the trailer (read supernatural stuff), but luckily they do not give away any hint to the mysteries in the series.
