'One Piece' expands cast; new adventures await Luffy and gang
The highly-anticipated second season of Netflix's One Piece has added two new members to its cast. Joe Manganiello, known for his roles in True Blood and the Magic Mike franchise, and Lera Abova, recognized for her work in Bumper in Berlin and Honey Don't, will be joining the pirate adventure series. The announcement was made during the Netflix Geeked Week Live show on Thursday.
Manganiello, Abova to play Mr. 0, Miss All Sunday
Manganiello has been cast as the character Mr. 0, while Abova will portray Miss All Sunday. The two actors were present at the Geeked Week event, where they were welcomed by Jeff Ward, who plays the character Buggy in the series. Speaking about his new role, Manganiello said, "To be trusted with one of the greatest characters ever in manga and fantasy; I've been waiting for a character like this my entire career."
Other cast members for 'One Piece' Season 2
The new additions join previously announced members including Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra, Brendan Sean Murray as Brogy, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Clive Russell as Crocus, Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, and others. Of course, our beloved Straw Hats, including Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Nami will return.
'One Piece' Season 2 in production
The second season of One Piece is currently being filmed in Cape Town, South Africa. The series is a collaboration between Shueisha and Tomorrow Studios, an ITV Studios partner, and is produced by Netflix. The executive producers for the upcoming season include showrunners Matt Owens and Joe Tracz, Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements through Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, and Steve Maeda.
