It's 'Om: The Battle Within' v/s 'Rocketry' on July 1
Om: The Battle Within, starring Aditya Roy Kapur, finally has a release date! The actioner is slated to hit cinema halls on July 1 this year. This means the film is poised for a direct box office clash with noted actor R Madhavan's directorial debut, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. Notably, Om: The Battle Within is Kapur's first action film and co-stars Sanjana Sanghi.
What did the announcement say?
While announcing the date and sharing a poster, Zee Studios, one of the producers of Om: The Battle Within, wrote, "OM! Set to explode on cinema screens worldwide on 1st July 2022." Apart from Zee Studios, the action thriller is being bankrolled by Shaira Khan and Ahmed Khan via Paperdoll Entertainment. To recall, Kapur's look from the film was first released in December 2020.

Here's more on the Kapur starrer
Directed by Kapil Verma, Om: The Battle Within has signed Bollywood's go-to guy for remakes, Tanishk Bagchi, as its music composer. Akshat Saluja and Niket Pandey have written the script for the venture. Its shooting schedule started in December 2020 and was wrapped up in February last year. Notably, last August, the team had flown to Russia for a week to shoot some portions.
What roles are Kapur and Sanghi playing?
While Kapur is playing the titular role, Sanghi's character's name is Kavya Sharma. In an earlier interview, she had said that both of them had to "train for the action portions," so it's safe to conclude that she will have a meaty part and not just be a beautiful statue in the film. Details about the other cast members are not known yet.
Let's talk about 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect'
Now, let's look at its competitor, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. Initially slated for a release on April 1, 2022, the biographical drama pushed its premiere right after RRR's team declared March 25 as its date. Written and directed by Madhavan, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former ISRO scientist and aerospace engineer, who was accused of espionage.
