NTR-Janhvi's 'Devara' advanced bookings approach ₹50cr worldwide: Report
The upcoming sea-adventure film, Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva and featuring Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor, has started its advanced bookings in India on a high note. As of Tuesday afternoon (September 24), the film had already secured over ₹8.12cr in pre-bookings for the first day of release in India, per Sacnilk. This is an unprecedented achievement for a movie that doesn't see itself as a big combination film.
'Devara' set to be Jr NTR's biggest solo opener
Per a Pinkvilla report, the global advanced bookings for Devara: Part 1 are currently around ₹40cr for the opening day. This trend suggests that the film is likely to be a huge hit in South India, while its performance in North India will also be closely watched. If the movie resonates with its audience, it could potentially earn over ₹100cr worldwide on its opening day, making it Jr NTR's biggest opener as a solo lead actor.
Advanced bookings surge in southern states
The Andhra Pradesh government has permitted multiplexes to increase ticket prices, which is expected to further boost the film's earnings. In Andhra Pradesh alone, tickets worth ₹5.1cr have been sold for 1,187 shows. In Telangana, tickets worth ₹11.58L were sold across 25 shows. Meanwhile, in neighboring Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the movie has earned around ₹2.36cr and ₹28.12L in advance bookings respectively from 451 shows and an undisclosed number of screenings respectively.
