The nominations for 90th Academy Awards have been announced.
Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Water is leading with 13 nominations. Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk and Martin McDonagh's Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri follow next with eight and seven nominations respectively.
Priyanka Chopra will be one of the announcers and Meryl Streep gets yet another (her 21st) Oscar nomination for The Post.
Here's more.
Best actor
It is a mixed, fiercely talented lot
The best actor category this year is as diverse as it can get at Oscars. It includes two debutants, two Academy Award veterans, one Brit and one black man.
One of them is sure to get the coveted trophy:
Timothee Chalamet, Call Me By Your Name
Daniel Day-Lewis, Phantom Thread
Daniel Kaluuya, Get Out
Gary Oldman, Darkest Hour
Denzel Washington, Roman J Israel, Esq
Best actress
Meryl Streep might just win her fourth Oscar this year
The nominations for best actress are predictable with women from most Oscar-worthy films of 2017 finding a place.
Though it is a tough fight, but legendary Meryl Streep might just take home her fourth Academy Award for The Post.
Other nominees are:
Sally Hawkins, The Shape Of Water
Frances McDormand, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Margot Robbie, I, Tonya
Saoirse Ronan, Lady Bird
Best director
McDonagh not nominated despite Three Billboards making waves
Though Three Billboards has been nominated in seven categories, McDonagh has curiously been left out of the best director bracket. These are the ones who have been picked:
Christopher Nolan, Dunkirk
Jordan Peele, Get Out
Greta Gerwig, Lady Bird
Paul Thomas Anderson, Phantom Thread
Guillermo Del Toro, The Shape of Water
Best picture
With nine nominations, it's going to be a sweet win
The most crowded of the 24 categories, it includes all the unmissable films of 2017.
Call Me By Your Name
Darkest Hour
Dunkirk
Get Out
Lady Bird
Phantom Thread
The Post
The Shape of Water
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
The award ceremony would be held on March 4. Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted Oscars 2017, will helm Hollywood's biggest event again this year.
