Salman gets relief, SC says no coercive action against 'Loveyatri'
The Supreme Court today directed that no coercive action is to be taken in any part of India against Salman Khan Ventures Pvt Ltd, the producer of upcoming movie 'Loveyatri'. A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra considered the submission that the movie, has been cleared by the Censor Board of Film Certification and despite this, an FIR has been registered in Bihar.
Movie's name was changed from 'Loveratri' to 'Loveyatri'
The film, slated to be released on October 5, was earlier named 'Loveratri'. The name was later changed to 'Loveyatri' by the producers keeping in mind that 'Loveratri' name sounded like 'Navratri'. The movie stars Salman's brother-in-law Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain.
Movie's name hurt religious sentiment of Hindus, said complainants
A criminal complaint filed in Vadodara, Gujarat is also pending against the film. Several other private criminal complaints have been filed against the movie alleging that its name has hurt the religious sentiment of Hindus. SC, however, took note of the producer's plea and said that no coercive action shall be taken against it relating to the content and name of the movie.
