Bollywood, recently, witnessed its long overdue #MeToo movement, where women called out powerful men for sexually harassing them. Now, former beauty queen Niharika Singh has shared her shocking #MeToo story and accused Nawazuddin Siddiqui, her ex-boyfriend, of sexually harassing her. She shared her ordeal in a long post and called Nawaz a sexually repressed person. Here's more on this.
Niharika was intrigued by Nawaz during 'Miss Lovely' shooting
Recalling her meeting with Nawazuddin, Niharika said that they first met on the sets of 'Miss Lovely' in 2009. While she had barely heard of him, Niharika was intrigued by Nawaz's acting skills. "The Nawaz on the set was nothing like the Nawaz on screen," she wrote. Niharika also mentioned how she was impressed by Nawaz's grandiose generosity and how they got close.
Nawaz grabbed me at my home: Niharika
Niharika's first horrifying incident came when she invited Nawaz to her place for breakfast post his overnight shoot. "When I opened the door, he grabbed me. I tried to push him away but he wouldn't let go. After a little coercion, I finally gave in. I wasn't sure what to make of this relationship," she stated. But this was just the beginning.
Nawaz was involved with several women, claims Niharika
Niharika alleged that Nawaz was involved with multiple women and shared different stories with each one of them. In fact, she also claimed that he had married a woman in Haldwani who later sued him for dowry. "I told him to clean up his mess, be honest with himself and everyone around; also that I didn't want to see him again," she added.
Nawaz wanted to 'rekindle' his 'relationship' with Niharika
Three years later, they got in touch again, when 'Miss Lovely' made it to the Cannes Film Festival. They chose to maintain friendly terms. In fact, Nawaz offered her a role in Buddhadeb Dasgupta's 'Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa'. "I agreed and went to Shimultata for shooting. He tried to re-engage with me sexually, begging me to be with him but I refused," she recalled.
'Star' Nawaz misbehaved with Niharika again
After the two incidents, Nawaz, allegedly, repeated his predatory behavior at a promotional event in Ahmedabad. This happened during the India release of 'Miss Lovely' in 2014 when Nawaz was already a big star and was throwing starry tantrums. "One evening, after a promotional event in Ahmedabad, he tried to grab me again. I just walked away," Niharika mentioned.

"Just like that I began a relationship with Niharika, a relationship which I didn't know then would last for over a year," Nawaz wrote.
Niharika accused Nawaz of fabricating stories
Nawaz's memoir irked Niharika and she accused him of fabricating stories to tarnish her image. She claimed that she was unaware of Nawaz's marital relationship while dating him. "He has chosen to fabricate stories and manipulate a fleeting relationship. None of what he has written has been with my knowledge, let alone my consent," Niharika mentioned.
