'Sacred Games' is an eight-episode series
The first season of 'Sacred Games' comprises of eight episodes and will begin streaming from July 6. The show is based on Vikram Chandra's 2006 novel of the same name. Phantom Films duo of Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane has directed the much-anticipated series. Besides 'Sacred Games', Netflix has six more Indian originals under production.
Motwane is delighted to be associated with Netflix
During a recent set visit, Motwane said, "Netflix brings in a bunch of objectivity that you cannot see." "They've trusted us to write the show the way we wanted to, and they wanted a Hindi language show. That was great because if it was in English, it would've started to feel fake after a point. Maharashtrian cops talking in English is strange," he added.
Saif describes his character as "troubled" and "honest"
"Sartaj is a detective and a smart guy. The way he solves things is interesting. And part of our job as actors and directors is to find the drama in each moment. There is a lot of action and movement," he said.
