Netflix wins bidding war for Kim Kardashian's 'Calabasas' series
After fierce competition, Netflix has successfully secured the rights to the upcoming series Calabasas. The high-profile project is executive produced by reality TV star Kim Kardashian, actor Emma Roberts, I. Marlene King (creator of Pretty Little Liars), and Alexandra Milchan. The series is based on Via Bleidner's debut book If You Lived Here You'd Be Famous By Now. A release date for the show is not out yet.
'Calabasas' series: A tale of dreams and reality
The narrative of Calabasas revolves around Via, a 16-year-old girl from a sheltered Midwestern Catholic school. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she moves to Calabasas High, reported Deadline. The series explores the complex realities of dreams turning into reality in a world where everyone aspires to be someone else. King will write and oversee the series, bringing her expertise from the uber-successful Pretty Little Liars to this project.

Kardashian's involvement boosts 'Calabasas' series value

This is Kardashian's fourth major project sale since the end of the Hollywood strike. Her previous projects include Fifth Wheel, an untitled thriller for Amazon, and a legal drama series for Hulu. The acquisition of the project also marks a reunion for Kardashian and Roberts, following their recent collaboration on American Horror Story: Delicate.
