'Stranger Things' Season 3 trailer: All you need to know
Everyone's favorite sci-fi fantasy is back with its third season. Its recently released final trailer is filled with intrigue, mystery, and a lot of 80s pop-culture references. While the season releases on the 4th of July, its trailer shows a giant new monster from the upside-down along with some new additions to the cast. Here's all we know about Stranger Things season 3.
For the keen-eyed, the final trailer reveals many things
There are minute details hidden between frames. For example, Billy will probably be the new host and Eleven will face her biggest battle yet. There's also a shady-looking human trying to catch hold of the children. The trailer shows footage from a carnival, newly-opened Starcourt Mall, and a lab/hospital of some kind. Maya Thurman-Hawke, Cary Elwes, and Jake Busey are this season's new entrants.
Here's the plot synopsis of the upcoming season
The official synopsis of the season released some days ago, but didn't reveal any major plot points. "It's 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana, and summer's heating up... When the town's threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they'll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear."
Season 3 will be shorter with only 8 episodes
From the first to the eighth, the episodes will have these titles: Suzie, Do You Copy?, The Mall Rats, The Case of the Missing Lifeguard, The Sauna Test, The Source, The Birthday, The Bite, and The Battle of Starcourt. Season 3 has a smaller scale as confirmed by co-creator Matt Duffer, who solely aims to "[give the] characters an interesting journey to go on."
What to expect from 'Stranger Things' Season 3?
The series has achieved the difficult feat of keeping its quality intact throughout its 2 seasons, which is a milestone in itself. The third season could have The Shadow Monster as a major threat, but will have other monsters as well. Now that the kids are older, it could focus on more mature themes. Either way, this could be Stranger Things' penultimate season.
