Netflix has announced three new original series in India
Streaming giant Netflix has announced three new original series in addition to "Sacred Games". "Sacred Games", being directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap and starring Saif Ali Khan, Nawazzudin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte, is based on Vikram Chandra s novel with the same name. The three new originals are - "Leila", "Ghoul" and "Crocodile". Here's more.
"Leila" the new original by Netflix
"Leila" has been written by Urmi Juvekar, who will also serve as the executive producer on the series. It is based on the book by Prayaag Akbar and will tell the story of Shalini, a free-thinking woman in search of the daughter she lost 16 years ago. Set in the near future, this inventive, boundary-breaking story centres around longing, faith and loss.
"Ghoul" and "Crocodile" originals by Netflix
Further, "Ghoul" is a horror series based on Arabic folklore. It is set around a covert detention centre, and will star Apte and Manav in key roles. It has been written by Patrick Graham, who will also perform the directing duties. "Crocodile" has been written by Binky Mendez and is a young adult murder mystery thriller series, set in the seaside state of Goa.
